By all rights, this post should be about healthy eating. I went for a job interview on Monday and faltered because I was tired and sleep deprived. For the first time in my life, I felt the impact of age and consequence of lifestyle, and I was alarmed. I gave thought to better eating habits, more exercise and most definitely more sleep (damn the neighbour who insists on laying bricks at six in the morning). But before all of that, I needed comfort. I performed less than stellar at an important job interview, and I wanted a butter cookie to make me feel better.
Om nom nom nomm…
And thank goodness for food blogs. A quick search led me to these cookies, and this expression of ingenuity. So I baked, and I ate, and I felt a little lighter on my feet.
Today I will recover, and tomorrow I will try again.

Looks lovely and comforting as it should!
Looks like just the thing we could all do with, every once in awhile! Did you hear back about the interview, or was that it?
Thanks ladies!
Y - I expect to hear from them next week. Thinking about the interview still makes me cringe, but I am feeling a lot better.
The site looks fantastic Helen. Love it. And the cookies - lovely. They look like melting moments. Good luck re job hunting. I’m doing the same at the moment. Not fun.
Oh no - I look forward to hearing all about it at coffee. Fortunately, the cookies look as though the could cure a bad day very quickly.
I’m sorry you had a dissapointing interview Helen! Chin up, though, I’m sure more doors will open for you and new opportunities wil arise! I don’t think anything is “the end of the road”, you know, there’s always soemthing else that will pop up and help you along
Meanwhile, baking helps!
Cookies are my cure-all, too. I hope you still wow’d them at the interview. Maybe next time you should tote along some of these cookies to win them over even more. I know they would sway me.
